As an avid reader of Action Asia, I thought this might be as good of a place as any to mention my disgust to the dolphin and whale killings in Japan. I am going to assume other readers who enjoy the outdoors and have a respect for animals like I do will feel the same. If unsure what I am talking about go to

WARNING: its bloody and not suitable for everyone!

that is F*** bad! we should indeed spread the word and get a massive campaign. Looks like these guys have learnt nothing since the war. no offence there, but STOP the killing of the heritage we are to transmit to our kids. Tks ! LWC

I agree LWC.

People said the same about "heritage" with Shark Fin Soup, but because of the announcements from Yao Ming it appears the number of sharks being killed for thier fins is falling. What needs to happen is a big international Japanese movie or pop star coming out and showing thier disgust about the killings.

Unfortunately, I don't have the phone numbers of any big stars in my roledex.

I believe we should stand stronger on this issue. Japanese are completely ignoring international laws and UN resolutions when dealing with the environment and specifically the protection of whales. Their excuse of "scientific research" is just totak BS. Their arrogance and greed is just killing some of the most amazing, and less-known creatures on this planet. I believe Action Asia should be at the very head of a campaign to get all guys in Asia aware of what the Japanese are doing on the water. This can NOT continue. Thanks, LWC

IMHO the shark's fin issue is far worse than what the Japanese are doing to a few score dolphins or whales.

We're talking around 100 million sharks a year.

Yao Ming may have come out against it but that's just the beginning. There's enormous money involved and much of it and the fins themselves come through HK and, to a lesser extent, Sing.
