I just got back from wakeboarding in Sai Kung. Although I am a little sore (make that a lot sore), got fried to a crisp from the sun and can barely move my hands, I had an AWSOME time. We hired a little boat operator for a couple of hours to drive us around. He didn?t charge that much, could be because I met him though a friend. This is only the second time I?ve been, but I want to do some more, I?m hooked!

There was one problem though, there was debris everywhere. I came close to running over huge chunks of wood floating in the water at least a couple of times. It would not have been good to hit one of those going 30kph. Does anyone know where I can hire a boat for a couple of hours in a place where there isn?t much debris?

Dear Jam,

Try to consider Tai Tam or Kei Ling Ha as they are more protected from debris floating into the bay.

During the holidays, quite a lot of people visit the places there.

There are also BBQ places and nice restaurants which you can enjoy Great Asian Food.

Strangely enough, there's a popular spot for wakeboarding between the airport and the mainland. It stays pretty flat but not sure about the debris situation.

Try Ben Mok - he is a great coach and has a good boat which creates a good size wake to ride. He operates out of Repulse Bay and is 750 hk dollars for an hour at weekends and 700 per hour week days. This is standard price. I've tried a few places and he gives the best coaching. His number is 96441943
