How safe is it to dive in Papua New Guinea? I know that you have great diving spots there but I have heard some nasty stories about the capital city Port Moresby and the high level of insecurity.

What is the current situation, how dangerous to travel there?

Thanks, LWC.

Port Moresby can be dangerous for sure, which is why many divers going there try only to change planes there or minimise their stay at least.

Ask your operator for up-to-the-minute advice on where to stay and how best to move on to the area where you will dive.

Diving wise, this is one of the great frontier areas in the world. If you are an avid diver, this place belongs on your life-list.

I have not been diving in PNG before, but a lot of divers told me that it is definitely a good and interesting place to go to: at least once in a life. Do you know which month is the best time to go there?

Diving might involve some dangerous: no matter it is in the PNG or other parts in the world. And how experience you are: But I think if you follow carefully of your dive instructors there, there will not be a problem. For they should be familiar with the place and know how dangerous it will be: things that you can do and where you should go: Here I can recommend some dive operators and resorts in the country: I believe they should be able to provide you some advises: Try to contact them if you need further information,
