Could Action Asia and / or friends of the magazine and website provide a list of the best diving sites in the Philippines? That would be super useful and make my choice easier as there are just too many resorts and diving centers listed on the internet. Just getting confused.
Thanks for your help, cheers, LWC

Hey, I would recommend El Nido resort in Palawan. Just super pristine environment, great diving sites, cool staff and rain forest just hanging over the resort.

I went there with a girl friend, she also enjoyed. They have a spa just by the pool, so no worries of her getting bored!
hope it helps, cheers, Rog.

I'm not a diver, so my reply is only worth what it's worth.
To me, El Nido and Coron are absolutely stunning! Both are perfect for island hopping and both are perfect for snorkelling. Diving-wise, I believe El Nido isn't that great, unlike Coron, with the famous WW II shipwrecks.
Bohol seems to have great diving sites. Snorkelling was okay, but didn't come nowhere close to El Nido or Coron.
For snorkellers, Donsol seems to be a must because of the whale sharks, but I haven't been there (yet).
I want to take a diving course, so I'll take this opportunity to ask for suggestions on HKG's best schools, based on safety and price.
Cheers!
Pedro

Pedro has some good tips, but just to add that Anilao/Puerto Galera is a very accessible area and pretty good. Not spectacular it's true but lots of smaller critters to enjoy and the travelling is a cinch. When you just want to get wet quickly, this is worth a shout.

Its not exactly the Philippines, but has anyone ever heard of Sipadan Island in Sabah? Just read they have a whole labyrinth of dive caves with skeleton remains of turtles in them.

Philippines, being the world's center of marine biodiversity, has a lot of dive sites to consider. It would all depend on what kind of diving you are looking for though.
