The Clean Half is Asia's only marathon relay open water event. At 15km, this race takes you through some of Hong Kong's most amazing waters, cliffs and shoreline. This year had 2m swells, and strong winds at the start, but a beautiful downwind swim at the end.... say bodysurf? A new course record was set by Team Windhunter, paddling in an outrigger canoe as a Carbon Neutral team. This year also had 3 solo swimmers, with the fastest swimming in a time of 3hrs 34min, Callum McKinlay. In total, we had 21 teams (5 people each), one from Argentina, and 3 solo swimmers (2 female). Get ready for next year!

Next year's race will be Oct. 2009. The next Sheko Challenge race, the 5th annual, will be July 4, 2009. Info at www.d2adrenaline.com

Wow, sounds like a cool event.

How fit and prepared do you have to be?

Where could I find potential team partners?

What costs involved to compete?

thanks, cheers, Rosemary.

Hey, do you have this kinda event in China? Or do you plan to organize one? Looks like tough but so much fun!

How many teams competed in the last one in Hong Kong?

See ya, James.

James,
Thanks for the note. We would love to have some in China... to be fair, the issue is water....and where it is clean/safe to do it. Hainan would be excellent....but we just need a couple motivated organizers to get it going It would be great to have a China Swim series at some point, with different locations throughout the year...HK being part of that as well. Let's see.
