AFCD have been up to their usual tricks in a section just at the end of the Yuen Tun Trail (the final part which joins up the Yuen Tun to the reservoir road). I'm sure many people have enjoyed "hiking" here before, I know I have. It is a fairly rough trail, with some existing steps, but AFCD have decided in their wisdom that what this trail really needs is some more concrete steps. Ridiculous - these steps don't help anyone at all, they're just another concrete intrusion into a Country Park, and part of the usual "make-work" scheme for AFCD and their cronies. Fortunately there are still some lines down the side for people to "hike" down, but it's so annoying to think that AFCD STILL think that more concrete steps are the answer to anything. They've also gone along the trail carefully chipping off any rough edged rocks, in their insane attempt to make all Country Park trails accessible to stiletto-heel wearers with push-chairs (similar to the butchery at Chi Ma Wan).
I had thought we were getting somewhere, but no - seems like the concrete addiction runs deep.
Perhaps AFCD need to go on a 12-step programme to beat their addiction one day at a time - each morning they should say to themselves "today, I'm not going to pour any concrete in a Country Park". AFCD, you can do it, we're all rooting for you!!
