Can anyone recommend a good, decent priced helmet cam? Also, what is the cheapest suitable video cam available that could be attached to it for filming DH/XC?

i own an oregon action sport helmet cam thing, its good but the strap that fits around the helmet doesnt fit... i asked for a longer one or any other way to put it around the helmet but it seems like im just gonna have to design or find another way to attatch it.

Ecobus, in my research into the topic this web site seems to have the best quality cams etc, as also reviewed by the bike mags some time back

http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/acatalog/Mountain_Bike_Package.html

They have from stanards to pro quality and what i think are some good packages.

The Helmet Hero 3 looks really good - no wires needed . 125quid. Sounds like a good investment.

The Oregon Scientific action cam is meant to be strapped to the helmet holes on the top of a relatively flat, bell-type skateboarder helmet, i.e. not the road-racing helmets with lots of grooves in them. It's hopeless trying to mount one to those, unless you get real creative with sticks and velcro straps. I know the guys who designed it [used to work there, gave them some tips on it], so if anybody has used one let me know what you think of it and it might help make the next one better!

P.S. thanks to Action Asia, the current version is waterproof - I returned to the office from a very wet race in Sai Kunga few years back with a prototype version that was filled with water.

Thanks Brandon. I use the Oregon Scientific action cam as well, for skiing. Ski helmets don't have grooves in them, so it's hard to attach it to the helmet; i clip mine onto the goggle strap.

My friends use a 4Kam helmet camera and it works great. He does a lot of extreme sports and has had no complaints. The down side is that it's a bit pricey.

All the best!
